My latest digital painting got exactly 1,000 likes on ArtStation and I'm still shocked

I posted a new character portrait I made in Procreate last Tuesday, and I checked it this morning. The number was a perfect 1,000 likes. It's not my most complex piece, just a moody cyberpunk portrait with some neon lighting. I think it hit a nerve because the color palette was simple but really worked. That number matters to me because it's the first time one of my personal projects, not a client job, has gotten that kind of response. It makes me feel like I'm finally getting the hang of telling a story with just a character's expression and lighting. Has anyone else had a piece unexpectedly blow up that wasn't what you considered your 'best' technical work?
