I finally fixed a weird router issue that took me two days to figure out
My home network kept dropping every few hours, and I was sure it was a bad cable or my ISP. I spent a whole day swapping cables and calling support. Turns out, the router's built-in firewall had a setting that was too strict and was killing long connections. Has anyone else run into something like this with their own gear?

Glad you fixed it... but honestly I've never had a firewall cause that. Usually it's just old hardware giving up.

My old Netgear router from 2018 had a "security" setting that basically treated my own laptop like a hacker. It took me three days of pure frustration before I found the checkbox labeled "aggressively drop packets for no good reason." I swear they design these menus to be as confusing as possible just so you feel like a genius when you finally fix it.
