TIL those digital load indicators actually pay off

I ran an old 50-ton Grove for 15 years and always thought the load cell add-ons were just another gadget to break. Then I had a job lifting HVAC units onto a 5-story roof in downtown Austin last summer and the indicator caught a swing weight I would have guessed wrong on. Anyone else have a tool they poo-pooed for years that turned out to be worth the money?

Load cells are still just an expensive feeling to me.

@seana14 Yeah, the price tag definitely makes it feel like a gamble on a gimmick.
