Just hit 500 clients in my chair and the number kind of freaked me out.
I started my little booth rental three years ago and I keep a simple notebook. I hit 500 names this morning doing a color touch-up. It's not just a number, it's 500 people who trusted me with their hair, their big days, their bad days. I remember client number 1 was my neighbor who just wanted a trim. Now I'm doing full balayage transformations and wedding parties. It made me think about all the conversations and connections. Has hitting a big client milestone made anyone else stop and feel a little overwhelmed in a good way?

It's a powerful thing when a number turns into a story. @beth_hunt's friend crying in her car really gets at that. We see it in small shops and cafes too, where regulars become part of the place's history. That 500 is a whole community you've built, one head at a time.

Oh man, my friend who does nails hit 1000 clients last year and just sat in her car and cried after her last appointment. She said it hit her all at once, like remembering the college girl who came in before her first big job interview, and the quiet older lady who just wanted someone to talk to for an hour every two weeks. She said it felt like holding all these little pieces of people's lives.
