That foreman who showed me a busted laser level saved my bacon last Tuesday

I was setting up layout on a foundation pour in Columbus and my cheap laser was drifting like crazy. He walked over, picked it up, and said 'see that bubble? It's off by 3 clicks.' He had a Klein Tools self leveling unit that just worked. Has anyone else run into a pros trick for checking level on site without relying on the electronics?

The old school guys always trust the bubble. Electronic leveling is great until a magnet gets knocked loose or the battery dies on a cold morning. A good foreman will also watch how the concrete trucks dump to spot if the grade is off. Always better to trust your eyes over a green beam that can lie to you.

Oh man, a good foreman is worth their weight in gold on pour day.
