Rant: Spent $60 on self-leveling compound that turned out to be garbage
Bought a brand I never tried before from a big box store last month. Sales guy swore it was the same as the name brand stuff. Got it home, mixed it up per instructions, and it was like soup. Took 8 hours to even start setting up and the finish looked like the surface of the moon. Ended up having to chip it all out and redo it with the stuff I normally use. What brands have you guys been burned on or swear by?

Man, sounds like the sales guy was trying to unload a pallet of bad returns on you. Hope you kept the receipt, that stuff is basically just expensive concrete flavored disappointment.

Concrete flavored disappointment" haha that's perfect. I actually read somewhere that some of these bulk protein things are just old stock they can't sell individually anymore. Not saying it's expired or anything but definitely not fresh.
