Shoutout to the guy at the Portland comic con who saved my signed copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #300

Last month at the con, I was trying to get my copy signed by Todd McFarlane and my pen totally died halfway through. This dude next to me saw me freaking out and just handed me his own Sharpie without a second thought. It was a metallic gold one, which actually looked way better than the black I was gonna use. Has anyone else had a random fan help them out in a clutch moment like that?

Oh man, that's the best kind of con story. That metallic gold is gonna look so slick on that book, too. It's wild how a tiny bit of kindness from a stranger can totally save the day and become part of your memory of the whole thing. Those little moments are what make the community feel real.

Totally agree, those small acts are what stick with you. Makes me wonder, what's your own best "stranger saved the day" moment from a con? Like, someone spotting you cash for a print when your card failed, or helping track down a panel room when you were lost.
