I finally stopped using coolant mist on aluminum parts
Ngl, that fine mist setup was making a mess and fogging up my enclosure nonstop. Switched to a straight air blast with a tiny oil drip and my surface finish actually got better. Has anyone else tried ditching the flood coolant for something simpler?
Flip the script on what everyone expects @brian303. Maybe the coolant mess isn't the real problem, but how often you're cycling through sump changes without checking for tramp oil first. That thin layer on top traps heat and breeds bacteria, making the whole thing worse way faster than a few drips ever could.
