Read a study that said carpet installers have a 40% higher injury rate than other construction trades

Found it in a safety report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Makes sense with all the kneeling and lifting, but that number still shocked me. What's the best knee pad you guys have actually stuck with?

My buddy Steve did floors for 15 years and his knees were shot by 40. He finally got those heavy duty ProKnees with the big hinge and swears by them. Said the pivot lets him move without taking them off every two minutes. Cost him over 200 bucks but he says it was the only thing that let him keep working.

Wow, that stat is brutal. I always figured carpet guys had it rough, but 40% is way worse than I thought. I used cheap foam pads for years until my knees started clicking. Switched to the gel-filled ones with a hard plastic shell, and it's a night and day difference. They cost more but my joints don't hate me at the end of the day.
