Finally hit 500 vintage postcards from my weekly flea market trips, which is a lot more than I thought I'd ever find.

It started as a casual thing to grab a few from the bins at the Springfield Antique Mall, but after three years of digging every Sunday, I've got a whole drawer dedicated to them now, mostly from the 1940s through the 1960s.

My trip to Olympic National Park showed me why a good rain jacket is worth the money.

I got caught in a sudden downpour near the Hoh River and my old budget jacket soaked through in about 20 minutes, while my friend's nicer one kept him completely dry.

I thought the new wireless sensors were just a fad until a job in Phoenix changed my mind

I was fully against them, thinking they'd drop signal constantly, but a big retrofit job last month forced me to use a full set of Ajax wireless contacts. The range was solid through concrete block walls, and the battery life on the motion detector is still at 100% after 60 days. Has anyone else had to eat their words on a tech they swore was junk?

Update: That pasta roller I built from scrap wood decided to become a dough cannon.

I cobbled it together with some old hinges and a rolling pin. First test run, the tension was all wrong and it SHOOT a perfect circle of dough straight into the sink full of dishes. My dog thought it was a new toy and now I'm cleaning up a sticky mess.
