Changed my mind about using a power stretcher on every job
I always used a knee kicker for small bedrooms, figured the power stretcher was overkill. Then last week I installed a 12x14 room in a old house and the carpet buckled bad right in the middle, customer got annoyed. Anyone else had a job where skipping the power stretcher came back to bite you?

Topographical map of the Rocky Mountains" nailed it, @brian_ward55. Same thing happened to me in a spare bedroom. Never again.

Learned that lesson the hard way too, only mine was a 10x12 living room and the carpet looked like a topographical map of the Rocky Mountains by the next morning. Customer was nice about it but I still hide when I see her at the grocery store.

... and that's why I always tell people to do a moisture test before laying anything down, but do they listen? Nope, they just want to get the job done and go home. Reminds me of the time I tried to save a few bucks painting my own garage floor and ended up with a finish that looked like a Jackson Pollock reject.
