Tried the 'aggressive' job hunt vs the 'casual' approach. Night and day.

Spent 3 months blasting out 50 applications a week in Austin. Custom cover letters, tailoring resumes. Got nada but automated rejections. Then I got lazy. Scrolled LinkedIn for 10 minutes a day. Replied to two recruiter messages about roles I barely fit. One of those turned into a 45 minute chat. Then an interview. Then an offer last Tuesday. The aggressive route made me look desperate or spammy. The casual one let me act like a human. Has anyone else seen better results by doing less?

Isn't that just cause people can smell when you're trying too hard?

Oh absolutely, I'm basically a walking deodorant commercial for desperation at this point lol. Last week I tried to be all cool and casual at a meetup and ended up agreeing to join a book club for a series I've never even read. The guy was like "oh you love those?" and I just nodded with way too much enthusiasm, now I'm getting weekly emails about chapter discussions. My attempt at being chill just made me look like I'm trying to be chill, which is the least chill thing ever.
