Hot take: A customer last month told me my lens cleaning method was leaving micro-scratches, and after checking my loupe, I had to switch from using those cheap bulk cloths to microfiber squares.
What's your go-to for cleaning vintage glass without risking the coating?

That's a solid point about the bulk cloths. When you switched to microfiber, did you also change your cleaning fluid? I've heard some older lens coatings can react badly to modern alcohol based solutions. What do you use on pre-1970s glass?

I actually used to just grab whatever spray was handy until @theagarcia mentioned the coating issue. Now I stick with distilled water for my older lenses to be safe. Have you found any good gentle solutions for vintage glass?
