Had a guy bring in a Nikon F2 that was "totally dead" and it was just the battery cap loose

Read an article last week that said something like 60% of "broken" camera repairs are just battery issues. Sounds about right from what I see online.

Oh man, this is way too common! I had a Yashica Electro 35 that I was sure was toast. I took it apart, cleaned everything, even bought a new battery. Turns out the battery contacts were just a little dirty from sitting in a drawer. A quick rub with a pencil eraser and it fired right up like nothing was wrong. My buddy jokes that 80% of "broken" cameras just need a fresh battery and a clean contact. It feels like half the posts in repair groups are just people with loose battery caps or dead batteries. Always check the simple stuff first, it saves so much headache!
