Guy brought in a Nikon F3 with a potato stuffed inside

Had a guy walk into my shop last tuesday with a Nikon F3 that smelled like a compost bin. I opened the back and someone had shoved a whole raw potato in there where the film should go. He said his girlfriend's kid thought it would "fix the camera" like a battery or something. Has anyone else ever found food inside a camera body?

oh man, that is both disgusting and kind of hilarious at the same time. kids really do come up with the wildest logic, like a potato is some kind of magical fix-all for anything electronic. honestly, i feel for that tech so bad, having to dig a rotting vegetable out of a classic camera. i bet the smell was something you don't forget anytime soon. at least it wasn't something worse like a banana, i guess?
