Bought a 1980s Mamiya RB67 off eBay - lost $200 on a broken back
Thought I was getting a steal on a medium format setup... but the film back was completely jammed when it arrived. Took it to a shop in Portland and they quoted $150 just for parts. Should have asked for more photos before clicking buy. Anyone else get burned by trusting old camera listings?

Jammed backs are the worst... that's brutal for $200.

Dude that reminds me I once paid $40 for a "vintage" USA made backpack at a flea market. Looked clean on the outside but when I got home and opened it up the whole inside lining was basically disintegrated. Like sticky black dust everywhere. Had to toss it in the trash because I didn't want that stuff getting all over my car. Seller didn't even mention it either.
