Worst Tuesday ever - 3 service calls in a row went sideways.

First house had a dog that wouldn't stop barking at me, second call the customer yelled at me for 10 minutes about a bill I didn't touch, third call the drop was buried under 2 feet of dirt. Anyone else have a day where nothing goes your way?

...and that's exactly why I keep a shovel and a "customer apology" 12-pack in my truck. A little icebreaker like that can turn a bad vibe around fast, and for the dirt, a garden trowel beats a full shovel every time without looking like you're digging a grave.

That "customer apology" 12-pack is genius. My buddy tried the shovel trick once during a driveway dispute and the homeowner actually called the cops on him for "suspicious digging." Had to explain the whole beer bribe thing to the officer.
