Half the installers I know eyeball them and say it never caused a callback, the other half swear a short loop is why water walks into the box. Do you actually measure yours or just wing it and hope for dry weather?
A 4 inch loop is actually about the minimum you want, not the target. Most code books say the drip loop needs to be at least 12 inches below the point where the wires enter the box or mast, so if you're measuring 4 you might be short. The loop has to hang low enough that water drips off the bottom before it can travel back up the wire by capillary action. Guys who eyeball it usually get away with it because they're bending way more than 4 inches without thinking about it.
