Update: Letting our installers set their own hours got pushback, but it's working

Everyone says a strict shop schedule is key for cabinet installs. I let my team pick their start times based on job sites, and we've had fewer late arrivals. Morale is up and jobs are finishing on time.

Yeah but good luck coordinating deliveries or client walkthroughs when everyone's on their own clock lol

People forget how much commute stress messes with focus. Your guy avoiding the 7 AM traffic jam shows up calm, not white-knuckled from near misses. He's more likely to catch a measurement error before it's a problem. Fewer messed-up cuts mean less wasted material and no do-overs. That saves money way more than sticking to a clock. You're basically paying for better attention to detail.
