That $8 laminated flyer I trusted for a garage sale

Last Saturday I saw this flyer on the board at the grocery store for a neighborhood garage sale. It promised tools, furniture, and electronics at 1420 Elm Street. I drove 15 minutes there and it was just a dude selling old Tupperware from his trunk, nothing else. I wasted a whole afternoon and like $4 in gas for nothing. Has anyone else fallen for one of these fake sale postings?

1420 Elm Street, huh. I drove out to a garage sale last spring that promised "vintage tools" and it was just some guy's collection of half-empty paint cans and a rusted lawnmower blade. Took me 45 minutes each way and I spent more on gas than the junk was worth. I guess I should be glad I didn't get there early enough to buy a moldy Tupperware set. My wife still brings it up whenever I leave for a sale, says "remember the paint can guy." Worst part is, I actually stopped at a real garage sale down the block on the way back and bought a busted leaf blower, so I doubled down on bad decisions that day.

Remember the paint can guy" is hilarious though, your wife sounds like a keeper for that one. But man, the leaf blower on the way back is the real killer, that's the kind of bad decision you have to laugh at or you'll cry.
