Spent $15 on a specialty bulletin board cleaner spray from the hardware store and it just smeared the cork worse.

I figured dish soap and water would work fine on a pinned-up cork board, but after trying this cleaner on a community board near the park it left a sticky residue that ruined the next three flyers, has anyone found a better way to clean those boards without wrecking the surface?

lol I mean is it really that deep though? It's a cork board in a park, not a museum piece. If the residue is sticky just wipe it with a damp paper towel or let the next person's flyer cover it up. Honestly I've seen boards with tape residue and coffee stains that still work fine for putting up lost cat posters and garage sale signs.

and honestly @holly_craig you're not wrong lol, but this is just one of those things where people way overthink simple stuff. i feel like everyone's been conditioned to think they need some fancy product for every tiny task, when half the time basic common sense works fine. it's like that whole trend of buying specific cleaners for every surface in your house when soap and water does the trick.
