Appreciation post: My coffee habit was costing me more than my car payment
I was looking at my bank app last month and saw I spent $237 at the cafe down the street from my apartment. That's more than I pay for my Honda Civic every month. I started making my own cold brew at home and now I'm putting that extra cash straight into my savings. Anyone else have a small daily spend that added up to a crazy number?

You really looked at your bank app. That takes guts. My weakness was those little convenience store stops for a drink and a snack. It was never a big deal until I added it up. Makes you wonder what else we're just throwing money at without even noticing.

Watching the little costs add up is rough. @patricia_king23 I used to think keeping track was a waste of time, but that convenience store habit hits different when you see the total. I found out I was dropping close to 90 bucks a month on energy drinks and gas station hot dogs. Never felt like much at the time, but that's over a thousand a year I could have put somewhere useful. Makes you realize how much slips through the cracks.

Yeah it's crazy how the small stuff piles up. I read this thing about "latte factor" spending, where just buying a coffee every day can cost over a thousand bucks a year. Makes you look at every little purchase differently. I started checking my subscriptions last month and found two I forgot about. It's all just silent money drains until you actually look.
