I tried to save on groceries with a giant pot of bean stew, and it was a total flop
I figured making a huge batch of bean stew would cut down on food costs for the week. But I guess I added way too much water, and it turned into a bland, soupy mess. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me, but even after simmering it forever, the beans were still kinda hard. So now I'm stuck with a pot of this glop that nobody wants to eat. It feels like I wasted all those ingredients instead of saving money. Has anyone else had a budget meal go this sideways? What do you do when a big cook-up fails?

Lol the hard beans thing is too real. My friend skipped soaking hers and ended up with a pot of gritty soup nobody would touch.

Just add a pinch of baking soda to the pot while they cook.

Wait she didn't soak the beans at all? That's wild. Honestly I thought that was, like, the one rule with beans.
