Just realized I wasted $400 on a 'universal' mixer attachment that never worked right with my mortar.

Mine works fine, maybe you got a bad unit.

Same thing happened with a universal grout blade for my drill. The fit was always loose, made a horrible grinding sound. Ended up just mixing by hand, total waste of money.
