Our book club's whole plan fell apart when the host's cat knocked over the wine
We were about to start our talk on 'The Secret History' and the bottle went right onto my copy, soaking the last fifty pages. I had to lead the debate from memory while my friend tried to clean the book with paper towels. Anyone have a good fix for red wine on paperback pages?

That exact thing happened with my sister's library book last year... red zinfandel all over the last chapter. We blotted it with paper towels first, then put plain white paper towels between every single wet page and put the whole book under a stack of heavy cookbooks. Took a few days to dry and the pages were a bit wavy, but you could still read it. The stain never really came out though.
