Passed my first inspection solo today at the refinery out in Whiting

I'd been shadowing for 6 months and finally got to run a boiler pressure test by myself. Anyone else remember that first time you didn't need a senior guy watching over your shoulder?

Honestly the first solo run is always the most nerve wracking. Just make sure you double check your pressure release valves every time, even if you think you already did it. That little extra check saves you from a bad day.

Wait did you read that one article about the guy who skipped checking his valves and had to do an emergency shutdown mid run? I mean it really sticks with you. Even if youre 100% sure everything is good, that one extra look takes like 30 seconds and saves so much hassle. Idk, maybe its just me but I always feel better after doing it, like a little ritual before I start.
