My brother-in-law fixed my brake with duct tape and prayers
It held for exactly one downhill run before we both learned a lesson.

Sean asking what the prayers were for... honestly, I bet they were for the duct tape's adhesive bond. That stuff gets gummy in heat and brittle in cold. The real lesson is that tape can't handle the push and pull forces on a brake cable, it only really works for holding something still.
