Ditched my Park Tool truing stand for a homemade one made of 2x4s
Built a tension-based truing jig out of scrap lumber and zip ties after my old stand broke last month, and honestly it works just as well for wheel builds under $400. Has anyone else gone back to basic jigs over the fancy factory stuff?

Man that beer bottle thing never got finished. He kept getting distracted by the brewery next door. Honestly though I don't get the hype around those Park Tool stands. I built a jig out of a busted skateboard deck and some coat hangers last year and it tracks straighter than my old shop's $500 setup. For casual builds under $400 you're wasting money on fancy hardware.
