Stumbled into a dusty comic shop in Brooklyn and found a treasure trove of zines from the 90s

I was killing time near Atlantic Avenue last Saturday and ducked into this tiny hole-in-the-wall place called 'The Bunker'. The owner had a whole shelf of self-published zines from like 1994 to 2001, all about local punk shows and weird art. I grabbed three for $5 each and they're wild - totally different vibe from anything online. Has anyone else found old physical media like this that just hit different than digital stuff?

That zine shelf sounds like a goldmine. Got a similar feeling flipping through old punk flyers at a record shop in Philly once. The rough edges and weird fonts just hit different than Instagram posts. There's something about faded paper and smudged ink that feels more honest than digital stuff.

Found a stack of old punk demo tapes at a garage sale once and they had that exact same raw feel. The spattered ink on the covers and handwritten tracklists made every find feel like a secret handshake. Something about holding physical stuff from that era just connects you to the scene in a way scrolling can't.
