Spent $120 on a wireless temp probe system and I was totally wrong about it

Ngl, I used to think those fancy bluetooth meat thermometers were just a gimmick. I've been doing pulled pork for years with a basic wired probe and thought that was fine. Then I got a Meater+ as a gift and used it on a 12-hour brisket last weekend. Honestly the ability to walk inside and still see the temp on my phone without opening the smoker lid every time was a game changer. Has anyone else had a similar experience with these or do you still stick to the old school wired probes?

Man that "walk inside and still see the temp" part hit me hard. I had the exact same moment with my Meater+ on a pork butt last month. I used to baby sit my smoker like a newborn. Opening the lid every hour. Losing heat. Getting frustrated. Now I just chill on the couch and watch the graph climb. Its a total mind shift from the old wired probes. I hear you on feeling wrong about it.

Respectfully I still prefer running outside to check my old wired probe, feels more like smoking that way.
