Dropped $80 on a used Peavey mixer for our garage demos and it hummed so loud we had to redo everything
Bought a used Peavey PV8 mixer off a guy in Tacoma about 5 months ago for $80 because our old one died mid session. Plugged it in and got this nasty 60 cycle hum on every track, turned out the power supply was going bad. We recorded 4 songs with it anyway and now I gotta re track all the bass and keys, which is like 3 weekends of work down the drain. Should've just saved up for a new one, has this happened to anyone else with old gear that seemed like a steal at the time?

power supply was going bad" sounds about right, bought a used mixer once too, same crap
