Old barber at the shop in Detroit made me rethink clipper maintenance

I always just wiped my clippers with a dry cloth and called it good. This guy named Ray who's been cutting hair 40 years showed me his routine using oil and a brush after every single cut. Now I'm wondering if I've been ruining my blades this whole time, anyone else learn a basic thing embarrassingly late?

I used to be exactly like you, just a quick wipe and done. Honestly I thought the guys who oiled after every cut were being extra or dramatic. But seeing how smooth Ray's clippers still run after four decades changed my whole perspective. Now I clean and oil mine after every single head and it's night and day how much better they cut. Makes me feel dumb for ignoring something so simple for so long.

Bet Ray's clippers still cut like new after 40 years.

Bet on that lasting quality, those old clippers were built different.
