Spent $35 on a digital scale and it fixed my cookie problem

I always used measuring cups and my cookies were either flat or dry. Bought a cheap Escali scale on a whim. Weighed my flour for the first time last week and the batch was perfect. Anyone have a good recipe that really needs a scale?

I read a baking blog that said one cup of flour can weigh anywhere from 4 to 6 ounces depending on how you scoop it. That's a huge difference in a recipe. So when xena_webb says to just fluff the flour, that's still a guessing game. My scale takes that guesswork out completely. It's not extra work, it's less stress because I know it's right the first time. My last three batches have been exactly the same, which never happened with cups.

Honestly can't believe a scale made that big of a difference for you. My measuring cups have always worked fine for cookies, just gotta fluff the flour first. Seems like extra work to weigh everything when a scoop does the trick.
