Just had the worst baking day of my life with a batch of chocolate chip cookies
My butter was too soft and the dough spread into one giant flat disc on the pan, so I ended up scraping a burned mess off with a spatula for 20 minutes in my tiny apartment kitchen, has anyone else dealt with this sad excuse for a cookie?

Totally feel your pain, I had this happen with oatmeal raisin once and ended up scraping cookie cement off the pan for what felt like forever. Put the dough in the fridge for like 20 minutes next time before scooping, it helps them keep their shape way better.

Oh man, yes! I had to chisel a batch of chocolate chip cookies off a dark pan once and it was like I was mining for gold, except the gold was burnt cookie chunks. The fridge trick is a lifesaver for sure. I also started lining my pans with parchment paper after that disaster, and now I never go back. It makes cleanup so easy compared to scraping off a layer of cement. And if you want to go even further, try freezing the dough balls for 15 minutes before baking instead of just chilling the whole batch. It really locks in the shape and keeps them from spreading into one giant pancake!
