Brought a slightly overdone apple pie to my in-laws' house and my MIL took one look and said 'oh, did you forget the timer again Claire' like it's a running joke now.
She said it in front of everyone at Thanksgiving dinner and now I'm banned from bringing dessert to family gatherings for the next year, has anyone else had a relative just roast them over one fail?

Man that's rough, I feel for you. One little mistake and now you're the family's dessert pariah for a whole year, doesn't seem fair when it was probably still tasty. My mom used to bust my chops over one burnt batch of cookies for like five Christmases straight, so I know how that stuck-in-a-rut feeling goes.

Right? @jason_fisher4 knows the struggle, once you get that REPUTATION in a family it sticks like glue and no amount of perfectly good pies will shake it. Your MIL turned a burnt edge into a whole season ban, that's brutal man.
