A ranger in Yosemite told me my water plan was a joke

I was showing off my route for a three day loop, and he pointed at my single 2-liter bottle. He said, 'You're going to be thirsty and dumb by noon.' I started carrying a 3-liter bladder and planning stops at marked streams. Has anyone else had a ranger give them a reality check like that?

What was your original route through Yosemite?

Honestly, that whole trip got rerouted before we even hit the park gates. A rock slide closed Tioga Pass the day we were supposed to go through, which was a huge bummer. We ended up taking the long way around on 120, which felt like it added hours. The detour did mean we saw some crazy big sequoias we would have missed otherwise, so it worked out. Still think about what that original high mountain route would have been like though.
