Vent: I used to think those cheap wire strippers were fine for everything
I was working on a Citation in Wichita last week and overheard a senior tech say, 'You wouldn't use a butter knife to cut a steak, so why use a $5 stripper on 22-gauge shielded wire?' He was right. I tried my old pair on a bundle and nicked the shielding on three wires in a row. Now I'm looking at a proper set with the right gauge holes. Anyone have a brand they swear by for delicate avionics work?

That "butter knife" line just shows how often we cheap out on the right tool for the job.

Cheaping out on the right tool is so true. I bought a cheap screwdriver set that stripped every screw in an old cabinet. Ended up costing more to fix the damage. Why do we keep doing that to ourselves?
