The grocery store clerk changed my mind about frozen veggies
I was at Kroger last Tuesday grabbing a bag of frozen broccoli for $2.50, and this younger cashier, maybe 19, says 'you know fresh is better, right?' I laughed and told him frozen is fine, it's picked at peak ripeness. He pulled out his phone and showed me a study from his nutrition class saying frozen can actually keep more vitamins because it's flash frozen right after harvest. I stood there holding my broccoli bag feeling like a total dummy. I've been eating frozen veggies for like 10 years thinking I had the upper hand. Has anyone else gotten schooled by a random teenager on something basic like this?

My friend Sarah got roasted by a 16 year old at the mall food court last month. She was telling me how she always gets the grilled chicken sandwich because it's healthier than the burger. This kid working the register goes "actually the chicken has more sodium and sugar than the burger, I looked it up for my health class project." He pulled up a chart on his phone comparing all the items there. Sarah said she just stood there holding her tray feeling like she got told Santa wasn't real. She still eats the chicken sandwich though, just now she knows she's not being healthy about it.

Wait, @the_karen's friend just stood there with her tray after getting called out like that? Thats wild. I would have been so embarrassed I probably would have just set the tray down and walked away. Frozen broccoli guy didn't pull up a whole chart on his phone though, that kid from the mall sounds next level prepared. Guess teenagers these days are way more into nutrition research than I ever was at that age. Makes me wonder what other stuff I think is healthy that's actually not.
