The difference 6 months of proper maintenance made on my truck

I bought a 2012 F-150 for $8,500 back in March and just drove it like I stole it. Changed the oil twice and ignored everything else until last week when the transmission started slipping. After spending $350 on a full fluid flush, new filter, and a transmission cooler install, it shifts smoother than the day I got it. Has anyone else noticed how much a simple cooler can save your transmission in the long run?

Man I drove my truck 30 miles to a trailhead last summer with a full Yeti in the back and hit a pothole so hard it popped the lid off and dumped ice water all over my gear. @the_tara you're dead right, that cooler basically saved me from two separate towing bills this year alone when my buddies truck overheated and we just threw drinks in the cooler and waited it out.
