I thought those 'smart' diagnostic apps for fridges were just a scam until one actually pinpointed a faulty damper motor on a 2020 Samsung in under 5 minutes.
Has anyone else had a specific tool or piece of software they doubted that actually saved a job?

Ever wonder why we all suddenly want to see heat signatures? @nancy154, those cheap phone cams are a perfect example. It feels like every few months there's some new gadget that goes from lab equipment to toy. First it was drones, then 3D printers, now thermal imaging. They're fun for like a week to find drafts or look at your cat, but the novelty wears off fast. We keep buying this stuff thinking it'll unlock some new skill, but mostly it just ends up in a drawer.
