The way I've been loading film onto reels for 20 years is completely backwards

I was in my bathroom last night fighting with a roll of Tri-X in the dark, wondered why the film kept binding up and scratching. A friend on discord casually mentioned you're supposed to curl the film with the natural curve of the reel, not fight against it (which is what I've always done by instinct). Has anyone else had that moment where a tiny technique change like this saves you half your frustration time?

@the_miles right on the money with that one. My dumb ass used to fight the film like it was a wrestling match until i saw a YT video where some guy just let the spool do the work. Now i load a roll in like 30 seconds flat in total darkness. Feels like cheating.

Learning the curl direction was a total game changer for me too.
