Hot take: People overhype the "romance" of handwriting everything
I see all these posts about how handwriting a grocery list is more mindful and deep. But I tried keeping a handwritten daily log for 3 months and my hand hurt constantly. Plus I lost the notebook twice and had no backup. My neighbor Carol still uses a paper planner and swears by it, but she also spends 20 minutes retracing phone numbers she lost. Isn't the whole point of analog life hacks to actually make life easier, not just look cool doing it? Has anyone else found a simple analog system that doesn't create more work?

Carolās handwriting pain and lost notebooks just sound like she never learned to keep things simple with a small pocket notebook and a cheap pen that actually works... the analog world doesn't need to be complicated to be better than staring at screens all day.

Dude yes, lol. I switched to a little Rite in the Rain notebook and a Fisher space pen a couple years ago and it basically fixed everything. I keep it in my back pocket and it never gets lost or falls apart. And the pen writes on anything even when wet. People really overthink the whole analog thing when all you need is something pocketable and reliable. Simple really does beat complicated every time.
