Critique from a librarian in Baltimore made me stop arranging books by color
I used to organize my home library by spine color. Looked great on Instagram but I could never find anything. A librarian at the Pratt library saw my photo and told me it was 'aesthetic chaos'. She said to try Dewey Decimal or just alphabetical by author. Three days later I reorganized 200 books by author last name. Found four books I forgot I owned and it only took me about 2 hours. Has anyone else ditched a pretty system for a functional one?
