My uncle told me to just use regular drywall mud on my old adobe wall patch
He said, 'It's all the same stuff, Gray, don't overthink it.' So I did a patch in my Sunport area house last fall. Within a week, the mud cracked and fell right out because the adobe just moves differently. I had to chip it all out and use a special lime-based plaster mix instead. Anyone else have a family member give them confidently wrong old house advice?
