Just found out my insulation was totally wrong for 2 years

I bought this house in the South Valley back in 2021 and just discovered last week that the previous owner stuffed regular fiberglass batts in the attic with no vapor barrier, lol. My energy bills have been crazy high during summer and now it makes sense. Has anyone here had to rip out and redo their attic insulation in Albuquerque?

Rip that stuff out and start fresh with spray foam.

Rip that stuff out" feels like a pretty drastic move for what might just be a minor draft issue. Spray foam is great and all but it's not always the right fix and it's a nightmare to remove if it ever goes wrong. I'd want to know more about what we're actually dealing with before grabbing the crowbar.
