Warning: I tried a wireless retrofit on a 1980s commercial panel in a Denver office building last month and it was a total nightmare. Hardwired is still king for those old beasts.

Ugh, that sounds rough. I saw a forum post where a guy spent more time fighting interference on a wireless retrofit than it would've taken to just run new wire. Sometimes the old way is just simpler.

My buddy tried to retrofit his garage door with a wireless kit last month. He spent a whole weekend resetting it because his neighbor's wifi kept killing the signal. Parkerrodriguez is right, sometimes you just gotta pull the new cable and be done with it.
