Question about pulling wire bundles in the 737 vs. the old DC-9 days

I started out on DC-9s back in the 90s and we used to just run wire bundles with basically no conduit, just tie wraps every few inches. We'd snake them through bulkheads with rubber grommets and call it good. Now I'm working on 737NGs and everything has to be in Teflon conduit with specific bend radii and a whole lot more separation for shielding. I ran a bundle last Tuesday on a freighter conversion and had to rework it three times because the service loops were too tight. The old way was faster but man, the new way really cuts down on chafing and interference. Has anyone else noticed how much more critical wire management got with the glass cockpits?

Rubber grommets and tie wraps" - that takes me back to when I rewired a jukebox in my basement the same way.

Buddy did the same with his old Wurlitzer. Worked fine for years.
