Dropped $60 on silicone air fryer liners and tossed them after 3 uses
I bought a 5 pack of those silicone liners on a whim thinking they would save me from scrubbing the basket every night. The first use was fine, chicken wings came out crispy on top but the bottom was soggy where the liner held grease. By the third use the silicone started smelling like burnt plastic every time I preheated the fryer. I tried washing them with soap and even soaking in vinegar but that smell never went away. Now I'm back to using parchment paper with holes poked in it, works way better and costs pennies. Has anyone else had that weird smell issue with silicone liners or did I just get a bad batch?

Respectfully gotta push back on this one. I've been using the same two silicone liners for over a year now (like, every other day) and never got that burnt plastic smell. Maybe you got unlucky with a cheap batch, or maybe it's that your fryer runs hotter than mine, I keep mine at 375 max. The soggy bottom thing I get though, I flip everything halfway through and that seems to fix it for me, but parchment with holes is definitely the budget winner here.

Same here, no smell issues at all with mine.
