My boss pointed out my incident reports were just data dumps, not analysis
He said 'I need the why, not just the what' after a tricky multi-alarm call. Now I run the raw data through a basic pattern recognition script first, which totally changed how I write them up. Anyone else use AI to help structure their notes?

Our old warehouse had a spike in slip and fall reports last winter. I started feeding the location and time data into a free chart maker, and it clearly showed most incidents were near the loading docks right after sunrise. That visual nudge made me look into morning condensation on the concrete, which became the core of my next report. Now I sketch out a quick timeline or map for every event before I write a single sentence. It stops me from just listing facts and makes me hunt for the story behind them.

I used to just list facts in my logs too. Running the numbers through a simple script first shows me the weird clusters and timing gaps. It forces me to ask questions about those patterns before I even start writing. Makes the whole report way more useful.
