GeoCities was a mess but I miss the personal touch

I used to roll my eyes at those neon green backgrounds with the sparkly dividers and MIDI music. Thought it was all garbage design. Then last night I found a 1997 site about someone's cat named Mittens. No ads. No tracking. Just a person sharing photos from their Kodak camera and a poem. Made me realize modern web feels sterile compared to that weird charm. Anyone else feel like we lost something?

Just use Neocities, it brings that old personal web spirit back without the hassle.

Yeah, my friend made a Neocities page for his cat and now the cat has more followers than me.
